A Celebrity Weekend
Catchy title isn’t it? Hehe..Yesterday morning, we all (excluding Aimi and Ahmad) went to KL on a day trip. Actually, nenek had a kenduri arwah and doa selamat at her house, so we went there to attend.
We set off to KL in the wee morning, before the sun was even up. Stopped in Melaka to pick up some fruits from nenek’s kebun, and went straight to KL for the kenduri.
The other reason for the kenduri was my Uncle from Abu Dhabi was home for the holidays. Ive always loved family gatherings, especially with Paklong and AyahCik around. It never fails to be upbeat and fun!
Nenek didn’t really invite that many people. She just wanted it to be a small gathering, with our closest family and relatives. So there were all 4 of mak’s siblings – with their families, Wan Cik (Nenek’s younger sister), Auntie Nora & Uncle Megat (Busu’s in-laws) and Tok Malik’s family. Tok Malik is my beloved grandpa’s younger brother. Anyhow.. you’d never guess who else came..! Hehehehe.. See below:
Tadaaaa…! Andy Estrange was invited too!Hahahahahahhahaaha.. ok ok, before everyone who recognises Andy gets all excited and shocked with why on earth a celebrity was present as my grandma’s house, let me just explain. (opps before that, Im not sure those who aren’t from Malaysia would know Andy. But anyhow, he’s a famous drummer from the group Estrange *wink*. You can Google them if you wanna know more.)
But you better believe it. He was there alright. That image you see above is not some cleaver photo editing using photoshop ok. Heheh.. That’s REAL. The other celebrity who came to my grandma’s house was Rudy from PopShuvit. But we didn’t get his picture coz he went home early.
Hopefully this picture wont come out in any gossip column or magazine. It would be such a scandal! Why? Bcoz he’s my UNCLE!! Hahahhahahahahha…
Yup, you read it right. He’s my uncle. So is Rudy from PopShuvit, coz they’re brothers. Hahahha.. Well, more specifically, they’re my mother’s cousins, my grandpa’s nephews. Hehe.. what? Tak percaya ke? Hehe..
I must admit that Andy (We all actually know him as Azwin) is very handsome. He’s been the cutest among his 3 brothers since little. He’s also the tallest. So I do understand why people are so crazy about him. INCLUDING my friend KakHas. She is practically a huge fan. I remember her smsing me telling me to send my regards to Andy the next time I met him.
“Uncle” Andy was also sporting enough to take a picture with me, just so that I could make KakHas jealous. Hahhaaha. But he also gave her something that I expect she’ll frame and keep safe! His autograph, addressed especially to her. Hahahhahahahaha.
After that was done, I called KakHas up telling her about what happened. And what did she give me in return?? A loud and long SCREAM of excitement. Hahahha.. I think that left permanent damage in my ear =P
Although I admit he’s very cute, but come on. He’s my uncle for crying out loud. Hahahaha.. BUT I have a confession. I still want someone as tall as him *wink*.

I like this quote. Somehow it summarises my current situation. I understand now why I felt so down yesterday. I didnt feel like laughing. I didnt want to go to work. Everything seemed wrong.
I didnt know what caused this unusual feeling until when I was already on my bed to sleep. Mak came in the room and asked us what day it was. "Tahu tak hari ni hari ape?" She wasnt literally asking us if it was tuesday or wednesday, she was asking us what happened on the exact date last year.
I automatically answered: "Datuk meninggal"
To those who didnt know me before, here's my post about it.
Yes, my grandfather passed away on the 24th of January 2007 at 11.54p.m. at his home in TTDI. I was there with him until his last breath.
I have been staying at my grandparents house during my studies in KL. There were times I stayed there alone when nenek n datuk balik kampung. They have a house there too. Since datuk's health didnt allow him to go to and fro from KL to Melaka whenever he wanted to, he's been staying at his home in KL.
I miss datuk. I miss his jokes (always dirty ones.. hehe) and how he makes fun of me at the dinner table. While holding posts in the MPP (Student Rep. Council Uni) and JPP (Student Rep. Council Campus), I was constantly busy with activities, so I missed eating dinner with the rest of the family. So when there were times I was present, he always teased me for eating to little. He kept telling me to eat more, etc. Hehehe..
Datuk was also a modern datuk. He always had these hobbies of his where he would go to the extreme. Once there was a room full of exotic n expensive fishes, then there was his stamp collection (you wouldnt believe how huge it is), then his kebun and so on and so forth.
His last extreme hobby was his computer and streamyx. Hey, its not everyday you find a 76 year old man spending hours and hours in front of the computer. He even had his own laptop. You should see the gadjets! =) Datuk... always the technology n gadjet lover.
I miss him with all of my heart. I cannot believe its oledi been a year. How time flies. I pray that he rests in peace.

Our KL Exploration..
The week after my exams finished, the whole family came down to KL for an entire week. It was coincidently the school holidays, with mak no longer bz with her tuition classes and ayah who had a bengkel in KL for a whole week. AND since I was only waiting for them to come fetch me to bring my stuff back to JB, I was delighted to hear they were all coming.Usually, if they come to KL, it would only be as short as a day trip or the most, one day. So a whole week was really interesting. The whole family was supposed to go to Sabah for a holiday, but due to a few problems, we didnt. So ayah said we could spend some money in KL and have some fun. Hehe..
So I was in charge of the exploration schedule for the whole family (except ayah la coz he had a bengkel). So for the whole 4 days (Monday-Thursday) we had our own activities planned.
Day 1 : Monday 26 November 2007
At first I thought of bringing Mak to Digital Mall, coz she wanted to survey a PDA phone for herself. But when we got there, we only found out that it opened at 1130a.m. Haiyaa, tercepat la pulak.. so I brought them to Times Square instead.
When Mak saw the IMAX sign, she went all excited and ajak pegi tengok. She went to an IMAX in Melbourne and wanted to see mane lagi best. Kitorg ni ape lagi, mesti la nak! Hehhee.. I've been going to Times Square lots of times, but I never thought of going coz of the price. But when we got there, I was surprised to see that the price was only RM15 per person. As I clearly remembered, it cost more than that before.
We watched a T-Rex 45 minute movie. Pergh.. The screen was really really really huge! The glasses were cool too. The movie..? Hmm.. not that scary. I think the Sharks movie lagi seram. We saw the advert, and boy was I jumping in my seat.
After the 3D movie - which gave me a headache side effect, I brought them to Low Yatt. Hahaha.. We got a few pamphlets and went home.
Day 2 : Tuesday 27 November 2007
The second day, ayah kinda tagged along. First we went to Paklong's store. Hehe.. as usual, the store would be seen as full of people just with our presence. Dah la besar2 semua. Hahaha.. Then e all went to Digital Mall and to do more surveying. For lunch, we went to Mid Valley for some Nando's. Since there isnt any Nando's near our house in JB, it was a treat to eat something we've been wanting to eat for a long time.
Next, since ayah's bengkel was way in the city, Mak and Ayah went to the Hotel while us siblings when for a movie. The movie.. Bee Movie. Which was really cool. Hahaha.. This was my second time watching coz I watched it with my friends before this. But the story never stops making me laugh. Movie yg sgt tak logic, tapi very funny because die tak logic. Get my meaning? Hehehe..
After the movie, my sister's wanted to find some shoes. Hahahah.. I think we went into nearly 20 shoe stores looking for the right size. You should have seen Ahmad's face! Hahahhaa.. Nasib baik jumpa one pair for Aimi.
The end of another exciting day.
Day 3 : 28 November 2007
The day started of with all of us reluctantly waking up early coz we stayed up late watching a movie the night before. Hehe.. We all arrived at the hotel around 10a.m. and invited mak along to our next destination >> The Zoo. Hahahhahaa.. I know, I know.. Ape barang the zoo eh..? Hahaha.. Well, for your information, Aida (my youngest sibling) was the one who semangat sgt nak pegi. Mak didnt want to go so the four of us set off with our umbrella and sun screen.
Believe it or not, rupanye TV3 were doing a shooting there. Ahmad asyik nak gi cari Wardina je. Sikit2 tanye.. "Mane wardina nye??". Sbr je laa.. Nak sgt masuk TV. Hehe..
Of course when you go to the zoo, you'll see the animals and bring the stench of them home. Hahha :P
After the zoo, we went back to the hotel so that Ahmad can bathe and went for lunch at The Pavilion - currently the biggest shopping mall in Malaysia. I've only been there twice plus this one. It was so huge. I wanted to go window shopping, but mak didnt want to. So we went back to the hotel.
When we got there, Ayah dah balik. And for dinner, we went to an Arabic Restaurant - Tarbush. Pergh.. it was delicious! Seriously. Everyone picked a different dish so that everyone can taste a bit of everything. I had kofta kebab.. which wasnt as I expected. The one I ate in Singapore was much nicer.
Day 4 : 29 November 2007
The very next day, we continued our exploration of KL by going to the KL Tower. I've been staying in KL for 6 years now, and I'm embarrassed to say that I've never been there. Hehe.. =P. The view was spactacular. This was the time to find the buildings we knew. Hehhee.. We even tried to find nenek's house. Hahahha..
The process of building the tower was awsome and unbelievable. To know more, go and visit and watch the documentary there.
Afterwards, it rained so our plan to go to the KL Convention Centre terbantut. After it stopped raining, my siblings and I went to The Curve and Ikano Power Centre. Since we were there, we bought tickets for the movie Enchanted. Guess what time the movie was... Hehe.. 11.20p.m. Hehhee.. Well, since it would be hard to go to the cinema in JB (distance wise) we thought we'd watch it here while we had the time.
What an adventure. Hehe.. First time my siblings watched a late movie. As for me, I've gone to midnight movies a couple of times so it wasnt that odd for me. Opps.. terkantoi pulak. :P
The movie was as wonderful as the reviews said. Hehhe.. I wanna go watch it agaaainnn!
That was a brief story mory about our adventure in KL.. Hahhaha.. We didnt exactly go any where that special, but it all changes when you go together as a family. Way more memorable =)
